WE ARE NEXTGEN OPHTALMIC
ALAN
My journey began at NASA, where I had the incredible opportunity to work as an engineer on the Space Shuttle program and develop multiple patents. That experience shaped my approach to problem-solving teaching me how to tackle complex challenges with precision, creativity, and a commitment to innovation.
From there, I transitioned into the medical device field, joining Nikon as the Manager of Technical Services and Training for North and South America. I later stepped into a Regional Sales Manager role, expanding my reach across the Western U.S. and deepening my understanding of customer needs from both technical and sales perspectives.
My career took a meaningful step forward when I joined Topcon Healthcare, where I spent more than 20 years making a lasting impact. While I began by representing the full Topcon product line as a Regional Sales Manager, I soon moved into a specialized role as the company’s leading refraction specialist. In that capacity, I supported private practices, teaching institutions, corporate accounts, and global partners helping them adopt advanced refraction technologies that improved efficiency and elevated patient care.
During my 23 years at Topcon, I was proud to consistently drive year-over-year growth, helping significantly increase sales across the Americas. One of my proudest career moments was being honored with a Global Business Achievement Award, recognizing the lasting impact of my work and the strong partnerships I built across the industry.
What drives me most is being part of an industry that never stops evolving. I’m passionate about helping practices navigate change, embrace innovation, and deliver better outcomes for their patients. Every challenge is a chance to make a meaningful difference—for doctors, clinicians, and the people they care for.
JASON
My journey into the ophthalmic world didn’t start in a clinic, it started in tech.
I began my career at Ricoh, working in their Copier and Advanced Robotics Division where I honed my troubleshooting skills problem solving under pressure.
I was selected to work with tech giants including but not limited to AT&T, Boeing, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman, earning my CompTIA+ certification along the way.
Those early years taught me how to be methodical, detail-oriented, and adaptable - traits that still serve me today.
After Ricoh, I had the opportunity to move into the ophthalmic industry with Lombart Instrument (now part of Advancing Eye Care). That was a significant turning point.
I started on the service side, working hands-on with diagnostic equipment where I learned the clinical side of eye care from the ground up. My skillful service was noticed and I was quickly invited to take on a new challenge in sales with Cal Coast Ophthalmic (now part of Stereo Optical under Essilor Luxottica). My territory covered Arizona, Nevada, and parts of Southern California.
That role helped me grow into a more well-rounded professional. I learned how to listen more, communicate better, and approach every clinic’s needs with flexibility and care.
My career has had its challenges slow starts, steep learning curves, and moments where I had to bet on myself. Those experiences made me who I am, and showed me how to help practices grow, stay efficient, and most importantly, be consistent.
OUR MISSION
Our goal at NextGen Ophthalmic is simple: to raise the bar for what ophthalmic sales, service and support should be. We envision a company that delivers more than just repairs and installations—we deliver reliability, innovation, and true partnership.
Every service call, every equipment install, and every client interaction is an opportunity to demonstrate excellence, build trust, and move this industry forward. As eye care technology advances, so must the support behind it. That’s why our team will continue investing in training, precision, and modern tools to help practices not just operate, but thrive. We’re not here to keep up with change—we’re here to lead it. A major part of that leadership comes through our sales approach.
At NextGen Ophthalmic, sales isn’t about pushing products—it’s about helping doctors make informed decisions that support the future of their practice. We take the time to understand each clinic’s unique needs, goals, and patient flow before recommending equipment or technology. Our role is to act as a trusted advisor, offering solutions that make sense not just today, but years down the road.
We also believe in transparency and honesty. That means no pressure, no gimmicks just solid guidance, backed by deep industry knowledge and hands-on experience. Whether it's outfitting a new office, upgrading diagnostic tools, we bring the same level of care and attention to detail that we bring to our service work.
Our sales mission is simple: empower eye care professionals with the right tools to grow, compete, and deliver exceptional care. From demo to delivery and long after the install, we stand by every product we place, ensuring that performance matches expectations and that support never stops.
Ultimately, we see NextGen Ophthalmic as the gold standard for ophthalmic service known for our integrity, our technical expertise, and our unwavering commitment to the doctors we serve.
